CITY OF EAST WENATCHEE, WASHINGTON
REGULAR SESSION OF THE CITY COUNCIL CONVENED
MAYOR STEVEN C. LACY, PRESIDING
FEBRUARY 22, 2005
6:30 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Councilmembers Present: Councilmember Raab, Councilmember DeWitt, Councilmember
Hendricks, Councilmember Bremmer, Councilmember McCourt, Councilmember Buckner, and
Mayor Lacy. Councilmember Aiken excused.
Council Action: A motion was made to excuse Councilmember Aiken from this Council meeting
by Councilmember Bremmer, second by Councilmember Buckner. The motion carried, 6-0
Staff Present: Bob Goodman, Lori Barnett, Teresa Allen, and Chuck Zimmerman.

CITIZEN COMMENTS
Bob Schmidt — Waste Management Contract. Although Mr. Schmidt was listed on the Council
Agenda he failed to show for the meeting.
Ted Woodard, District Manager of Waste Management said he was hoping that Mr. Schmidt
would have appeared at the meeting so that the contract and services could be explained. He said
Waste Management sent Mr. Schmidt a letter informing him that he was a City resident and was
required to have garbage service as the City had a mandatory collection in the City limits of East
Wenatchee. Mr. Woodard said Mr. Schmidt has neglected paying for the service and has been
sent to collections.
Mayor Lacy said he would sign a letter form the City regarding the mandatory collection of
garbage service in the City of East Wenatchee.
Mr. Woodard said he would like to meet with the City to discuss a variable can rate structure.
PRESENTATION
East Wenatchee Events Board (EWEB) Director Dawn Collings thanked the City for the funding
request through hotel/motel tax funds. She said the funding will go towards the Wings & Wheel
Festival and also Classy Chassis. Ms. Collings said the EWEB Boardmembers this year are
President Wayne Barnhart, Vice President Kathy Kurpuis, Secretary Pat Moore, Treasurer Marica
Janke, Kristen Bryant, April Taylor, Deb Lacy, Ron Singleton, and Lisa DeChene, Ex Officio
members Becky Sager, Wenatchee Valley Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Lacy, City of East
Wenatchee.
MAYOR'S REPORT
Mayor Lacy said an Executive Session has been added to this agenda regarding labor
negotiations.
