HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances - 1970-158 - Amending Ordinance No. 129, changing the zone of a particularly described area from residential commercial to general commercial - 12/21/1970• • ORDINANCE NO. /J78 AN ORDINANCE, amending Ordinance 129, changing the zone of a particularly described area from residential commercial to general commercial, WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of East Wenatchee has favorably recommended the change from residential commercial to general commercial, and WHEREAS, the current dividing line in that area between general commercial and residential commercial is Fourth Street, Fourth Street being a curving road from the northeast to the southwest, and it being the policy and general program of the street department to vacate Fourth Street as it presently exists and establish it running east and west and causing an extension of Baker Street to meet up with Fourth Street. When this occurs, the property herein changed to general commercial would be isolated from all other residential commercial and properly be included in and classified general commercial, and WHEREAS, the property described below can more properly and more advantageously be used insofar as topography and land area is concerned with the adjoining general commercial area and is by topography and access separated from the surrounding residential commercial area, and WHEREAS, the establishing the property described as general commercial zone does not in any way adversly affect the surrounding residential commercial, and WHEREAS, the adjoining property, even though established on a residential commercial zone, contains furniture store, veterinarian business, trailer park and livestock pasture, all of which were established before the zone was created as residential commercial, and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest and welfare of the public and the people of East Wenatchee and does not adversly affect surrounding area and is the highest and best use for which the property described could be used, now, therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EAST WENATCHEE SECTION I - That Ordinance 129 be and the same is hereby amended to remove from residential commercial and include in the general commercial zone the following described property: Part of Lot 32, East Wenatchee Land Company's Plat of Parts of Sections 11 and 2, Township 22 North, Range 20 E.W.M., according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume A of Plats, page 196, described as follows: (A) That part of said Lot lying east of a line drawn from a point on the south boundary of said lot and 200 feet distant from the southwest corner thereof to a point on the east boundary line of said lot and 60 feet distant from the northeast corner thereof; (B) Also, a strip of land 20 feet in width, lying south of a line drawn parallel to the south boundary of said • • • Lot and 20 feet north thereof, which said line extends from the west boundary of said lot to the intersection with the above described line. Except that portion thereof conveyed to Douglas County, Washington, for road by deed recorded September 30, 1955, under Auditor's file no. 119844, in Volume 130, page 291. SECTION II - That the city administrative officer is directed to amend and change correspondingly the maps and plat plans showing the boundary lines and zones established within the City of East Wenatchee.
