NOTICE OF APPLICATION
CUPN2018-01 AND CPA2018-02
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT Lenka Slapnicka of Forte Architects, agent for
the Chapel of the Valley, applied for a conditional use permit and variance to allow
the issuance of a building permit for expansion and renovation of an existing home
and conversion to a funeral chapel. The facility will include meeting space, offices,
and parking for approximately 30 vehicles. This will not be a facility for cremation or
burial. Access to the site will be from Eastmont Avenue only. The variance requested
is to allow the north side yard setback to be reduced form 15 feet to 5 feet. The
subject property is in the Residential High Density/Office Zoning District. The
application also includes a requested determination that the proposed use is
consistent with a church facility and is permitted as a conditional use. In a separate
proposal, the applicant has also applied for a comprehensive plan map amendment
that would change the designated land use classification of the property from
Residential High Density/Office to Central Business District consistent with the
zoning of properties to the south. The location of the subject property is 378
Eastmont Ave., East Wenatchee, WA within Section 11 Township 22 N. Range 20 E.
W. M. Assessor's parcel number 40100003508. Lot 1, Binding Site Plan 132-95.
Any person has the right to submit written comments regarding this application, to
receive notice of and participate in public hearings, request copies of the final
decision or appeal the application pursuant to the City Code and State Law. Persons
desiring to submit comments should do so in writing to: East Wenatchee Community
Development Department, 271 9th Street NE, East Wenatchee, WA 98802.
Application materials relating to this proposal are available for review at the East
Wenatchee Community Development Department during regular business hours.
Written comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. on September 12, 2018.
