NOTICE OF APPLICATION
ZC2019-01
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT Lenka Slapnicka of Forte Architects, agent,
submitted an application in care of 302-312 Ninth St Holdings LLC, for a zoning map
amendment to change the zoning district of the subject property from Residential
Office/High-Density (R-H) to Commercial Business District (CBD). The application
was submitted on May 8th, 2019 and deemed complete on June 5th, 2019. On April
2, 2019, the subject property was approved for a change in the Greater East
Wenatchee Comprehensive Plan (2018) Zoning Designation from R-H to CBD; this
application for a Zoning Map Amendment will permit the subject property to be
utilized according to the CBD land use zoning district regulations. Construction of the
new Chapel of the Valley facilities are ongoing. The use of the property will be for
funeral services as currently intended, as well as body preparation as a result of this
zoning map amendment. Cremation will not be permitted at this location. No critical
areas are located on the property. A Determination of Non -significance (DNS) was
issued on September 27, 2018 and remains applicable for the proposed zone
change. The subject property is located at 378 Eastmont Avenue, East Wenatchee,
WA 98802, within Section 11, Township 22 N, Range 20 E.W.M., also identified as
APN:40100003508.
Any person has the right to submit written comments regarding this application, to
receive notice of and participate in public hearings, request copies of the final
decision or appeal the application pursuant to the City Code and State Law. Persons
desiring to submit comments should do so in writing to: Lori Barnett, East
Wenatchee Community Development Department, 271 9th Street NE, East
Wenatchee, WA 98802 or via e-mail to: Ibarnett@east-wenatchee.com. Application
materials relating to this proposal are available for review at the Community
Development Department during regular business hours.
Written comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. on July 1, 2019.
