HomeMy WebLinkAbout2015-07-14 - Teamsters, Local Union No. 760 - Memorandum of UnderstandingLETTER OF AGREEMENT Between CITY OF EAST WENATCHEE and TEAMSTERS UNION LOCAL NO.760 ("Union") This Letter of Agreement (LOA) sets for the terms and understanding between the CITY OF EAST WENATCHEE ("Employer") and the TEAMSTERS UNION LOCAL NO. 760 ("Union") to establish a workweek for Police Department Union employees. Background The current collective bargaining agreement establishes a normal work week for Police Department Union employees as either five consecutive, eight hour shifts or four consecutive, ten hour shifts. Multiple seven (7) day work weeks currently exist. The Employer has the exclusive prerogative to schedule working time and time off. Purpose This LOA establishes the establishment of one (1) work week, modifying the current collective bargaining agreement, effective 12:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015 as follows: ARTICLE 9. HOURS OF WORK, OVERTIME AND OTHER PAY 9.1 Scope. This Article defines the normal hours of work and establishes the basis for the calculation of overtime. It is not a guarantee of hours of work per day, work period, month or year and it is not intended to establish a right to compensation in any form for time not worked, unless specifically set forth in this Article. 9.2 Normal Work Week and Work Day. The normal work week shall consist of four (4) ten (10) hour shifts and/or five (5) eight (8) hour shifts. The work week is defined as seven (7) consecutive days, beginning 12:00 a.m. Monday through 11:59 p.m. Sunday. The sum total of regular time worked shall not exceed forty (40) hours per week based on an annual average. The City agrees to endeavor to limit scheduling of split shifts to relief of emergency situations. Except as modified herein, all other provisions and application of the Collective Bargaining Agreement shall remain unchanged. No employee shall suffer a reduction in pay as a result of this LOA.
