The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was
called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were
Councilmen John Wells, John McDougall, Art O'Neal and Si Neher,
Clerk Dorotha McGee and Police Chief Joe Carl.
The minutes of the previous me..ting were read and stand approved
as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as follows:
Current Expense Warrents nos. 1953 thru 1955
Internal Revenue Service 258.44
Employment Security Dept. 198.94
Dept. Labor & Industries 46.95
Street uVarrents nos. 591 thru 593
Internal Revenue Service 84.50
Employment Security Dept. 105.84
Dept. Labor & Industries 25.00
Si Neher made a motion to pay the bills; motion was seconded
by Art O'Neal and passed by a unanimous vote.
Art O'Neal reported progress has been made on the work on the
new park addition. Mr. M.M. Moore has donated his time to
assist in the location of the water lines for the Park.
John Wells stated that he has been unable to contact Milt
Sandstrom with regards to Street repair on Ashland Street.
John McDougall reports the street lights have been moved to
the correct location on Baker Street. He also stated that
the lights have not been installed at the Grant Road and Main
Street intersection. Mayor Lannoye suggested that Mr. McDougall
call Mr. Fleming on this matter.
Si Neher reported that the Water District has repaired Main Street
near the new Bank building.
John Wells stated that he felt that the Town should have a Fire
Inspector. John Wells made a motion to appoint Bob Derry, or
someone he so designates, as Fire Inspector for the Town of East
Wenatchee. John McDougall seconded the motion and it was passed
by a unanimous vote.
The Clerk read the resignation of Alton Nix, City Engineer.
John McDougall made a motion to accept his resignation with
regret; motion was seconded by John Wells and passed by a
unanimous vote.
Mayor Lannoye and John Wells stated;,that they felt that it
would not be necessary to appoint another Engineer at this time.
After a general discussion the Councilts decision was not to
appoint an Engineer at this time.
Mayor Lannoye reported that he was contacted by Lyle Gault
with regards to establishing a used carlot and a wrecking
yard on property adjoining the County shops and the Union
Station on South Main Street. After a general discussion
the Council decided that a permit could be issued for the
car lot, but no permit will be i--sued for the wrecking yard.
The Mayor reported that he was contacted by P,ir. Kruegar regarding
the possibility of constructing a retaining wall between the
Corral Drive-in and the Cut -Rate Gas Station. Mavor Lannoye
requested that each Councilman check this situation and report
at the next meeting.
John McDougall made a motion to adjourn; motion was seconded
by Art O'Neal and passed by a unanimous vote.

Miss Jo Pa_dee, from the North Central Regional Library,
a'rived after the meeting was adjourned, but gave an informal
report on the 1965 Library circulation for the North Central
Regional Library and the East Jenatchee Library., 'Viarren Crowe
East ienatchee Library Board Chairman, reported on the progress
made by the Friends of the Library during their cur°i°ent fund
drive to aid the East Wenatchee Library.
