The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present
Wells, John McDougall, Art O'Neal and Si Neher;
were Councilmen John
Clerk Dorotha
McGee and Joe Carl. Mr. Ross Eaton and Mr.
Icon Sinclair form
Rock Island were also present.
The minutes of the February 7, 1966 meeting
were read and stand
approved as read. The minutes of the February
21, 196b meeting
were read and stand approved as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as

John Wells made a motion to pay the bills; motion was seconded
by Si Neher and passed by a unanimous vote.
Art O'Neal reported that work is progressing on the new addition
to the Park. Art O'Neal made a motion that a letter of ap-
preciation be sent to the East Wenatchee Water District for the
top soil, men and equipment used in the work on the Park. Motion
was seconded by John McDougall and passed by a unanimous vote.
A motion was made by Art O'Neal that a letter of appreciation be
sent to the Douglas County Employees and to Mr. Jack Van Well,
County Commissioner, for the men and equipment used in the Park
work. The motion was seconded by John McDougall and passed by
a unanimous vote.
John Wells reported on the present condition of the City streets.
Mayor Lannoye reported attending the Sewer District meeting and
the ensuing discussion on the repair of City streets by the Sewer
District and the Douglas County Road Dept. After a discussion
on llth Street it wad decided to table this matter, and to
instruct Mott Liek to keep an accounting of the cost to the Town
of the repairs he makes on llth Street.
Mayor Lannoye stated that the drainage ditch at lath Street will
be repaired irunediately. The Bond will be held until the work
is considered satisfactory b17- the Town.
The Douglas County_ P.U.D. has agreed on a new rate schedule for
the street lights in East Wenatchee as follows:
lst ten lights @ 3.75 each
2nd ten lights @ 3.50 each
3rd ten lights @ 3.25 each
all over 3.00 each
These rates apply to 400 watt mercury vapor lights used in a
new 20 year contract. This contract will be sent to the Council.
for approval at the next meeting.
The installation of the lights at Grant Road and Main Street was
discussed. Mr. Jones of the State Highway Dept. has informed
the Clerk that if the P.U.D. installs the lights, the cost allowed
in the original contract for these lights will bA ded►_ieted
Mayor Lannove proclaimed April 17-23 Home Safetv Week.
John Wells made a motion to purchase a new file cabinet for the
Town Hall; Si Neher seconded the motion and it passed by a
unanimous vote.
Ma --or Lannove requested the Clerk to write, the Book Publishin,F
Co. and request that a copy of all correspondence be sent to
the Town Hall, and to inquire as to the status of the Citv
Codification at the present time.
A 7eneral discussion was held on a proposed Revenue tax on the
SpwPr Di-,trict.
Joe Carl requested that the speed limit on Grant Road be increased
to 35 miles per hour. John Wells made a motion that the 25 mile
sic-n near Food City Store be moved to the corner of Grant and

Rock Island Road. Motion was seconded by John McDougall and
passed by a unanimous vote.
John Wells made a motion that on Aprill 11, 1966 the spop sign
on llth Street be removed and two stop signs be installed on
North Main Street, North and South, with free right turn going
North off of Main Street on llth Street. Motion was seconded
by John McDougall and passed by a unanimous vote.
Joe Carl discussed with the Council the proposed purchase of
a new radar unit for the Police car. Si Neher made a motion
to defer this matter until funds are available; motion was
seconded by John McDougall and passed by a unanimous vote.
John McDougall made a motion to adjourn; seconded by John Wells
and passed by a unanimous vote.
