HomeMy WebLinkAbout1/17/1966 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesJanuary 17, 1966 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen John McDougall, Lloyd Keagle., Art O'Neal and Si Neher; Attorney Wm. Hamilton, Ulerk Dorotha McGee and Engineer Al Nix. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and stand approved as read. The bills were presented to the Council as follows: Current Expense Warrant no. 1873 Cora Lake $21.00 Si Neher made a motion to pay the bill. Motion was seconded by Art O'Neal and passed by a unanimous vote. Mayor Lannoye was requested by the Council to consult with Judge Lake. A Public Hearing was held on the Comprehensive six -year Street Program. A motion was made by John McDougall, to accept the Program as presented. Motion was seconded by Si Neher apd passed by a unanimous vote. Mayor Lannoye reported on the condition of llth Street and repairs needed. Mr. Nix stated that llth Street was not included in the agreement between the Sewer District and Douglas County Road Dept. Si Neher made a motion that a letter be sent to the Sewer District requesting repairs be made on llth Street. Motion was seconded by Lloyd Keagle and passed by a unanimous vote. John McDougall reports that he had contacted the Douglas County P.U.D. regarding the lights at the Grant Road intersection. P.U.D. Commissioners McLean, Prey, and Doneen; Manager Lieberg and Fleming attended the meeting, and a general discussion was held regarding the costs of street lights to the Town. Mayor Lannoye stated that he would like to obtain a graduated rate schedule from 50 to 500 lights. He stated that such a rate schedule would probably enable the Town to afford more street lights, and be a possible aid to future annexation. Commissioner McLean stated that he felt that the Generating Tax should be retained in Douglas County. Lloyd Keagle requested that'a letter be sent to Mr. Batterman informing him of Town Ordinance No. 110, regarding trash on lots within the Town. Mr. Hamilton will contact Mr. Batterman on this matter. Attorney Wm. Hamilton reports that he has consulted with the State Highway Dept. and has been assured that the State will give any help possible to the Town for Wraffic counts and engineering. John McDougall -made a motion to write a letter to Ron Lannoye thanking him for painting the insignia on the new truck. Motion was 06eonded by Lloyd Keagle and passed by a unanimous vote. Si Neher made a motion to adjourn. Seconded by John McDougall and passed by a unanimous vote. F�
