The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was
called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Council-
men John McDougall, Lawrence Letts, Art O'Neal and Clerk '
Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and stand approved
as read.
Art O'Neal reported that Mrs. Bob Curtis and her Camp Fire Group
have donated and planted a Fir tree in the new Park area.
John McDougall reported that one new street light has been
installed. He also stated that the State Highway Dept. requires
a permit before the light can be installed at the corner of
U.S, no. 2 and 13th Street. Cost of this permit could be as
much as �25.00. This light would be on State property, but
the Town would pay for installation and costs. Mayor Lannoye
has requested a waiver on this permit.
Lawrence Letts told the Council that the plans for the
beautific-
ation of the Clover Leaf were
received today. He also
stated
that the East Wenatchee garden
Club is willing to help
with
an improvement project for the
community.
Mayor Lannoye stated that the
Columbia Motel area needs
cleaning
up or some improvements made.
Ordinance No. 109 was studied
by the Council.
Mayor Lannoye led a discussion
regarding inspection fees
for
'
building permits. After due consideration
this matter
was
tabled until the next meeting.
The Building Inspector
will be
consulted.
A motion was made by Lawrence Letts to continue the present
insurance on the Town Hall for the next year; motion seconded
by John McDougall and passed by a unanimous vote.
Mayor Lannoye reported for absent Councilman John Wells, that
the needed street repairs have been completed and the street
sign at 9th and Main has been changed.
Mayor Lannoye presented the name of Mrs. Lawrence Letts to the
Council for their approval, to fill the vacancy on the East
Wenatchee Library Board. John "IcDougall made a motion to
appoint Mrs. Letts to the Library Board; motion was seconded by
Art O'Neal and passed by a unanimous vote. Mrs. Letts will
fulfill the unexpired term of Mrs. Childers.
John McDougall made a motion to adjourn; motionseeconded by
Art O'Neal and passed by a unanimous vote.
