Present were Councilmen Art O'Neal, Lawrence Letts and John McDougall; Attorney Lowell Sperline Chief of Police Joe Carl and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and stand approved as read. John McDou4all reported that the lights had not been installed at the Grant iLoad in+ersection. Mayor Lannoye reported that arterial Project No. 6 has b:en approved by the State Highway Dept. Mayor Lannove requested that the City Attorney write the Ordinance for the formal adoption of the Viashington State Traffic Statutes. Attorney Sperline stated that he would do so. A motion was made by Art O'Neal for the purchase of the Tractor - mower from Sears, Hoebucr: & Co. for �685.00 plus tax. Motion was seconded by Lawrence Letts and passed by a unanimous vote. Lawrence Letts made a motion for the Town to requ6st the Douglas County Road Dept. to proceed with the resurfacing of 1st street S.E. Motion was seconded by Art O'Neal and passed by a unanimous vote. ' Mott Liek was instructed by Mayor Lannoye to install another 25 mile zone sign on Grant Road within the Town limits. Lowell Sperline, on behalf of the Kiwanis Club, thanked the Town Council for the use of t;le City Park for the Salmon Barbecue. Several citizens from the Community Action program appeared and spoke to the Council. O'Dell O'Neal spoke to the Council and stated the-t he is a candidate for Douglas County Sheriff. Mr. Wilson inquired if a business license is necessary for the purpose of a Welcome Wagon Service in East Wenatchee. The Town Council decided that according to the Local Ordinance, a business license would be required. Mayor Lannoye set August 22, 1966, as the date for Council members to work on balancing the budget for 1967. John McDougall made a motion to adjourn; motion was seconded by Art O'Neal and passed by a unanimous vote. TLERK
