The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen John
McDougall, Art O'Neal, John Wells, Si Neher and Lawrence Letts;
Chief of Police Joe Carl, Clerk Dorotha McGee and Building
Inspector Clayton Wells.
The minutes of the previous meeti.np: were read and stand approved
as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as

John`W611b made a motion to pay the bills, with the exception of
the telephone bill for Joe Carl; motion was seconded by John
McDougall and passed by a unanimous vote.
Mayor Lannoye requested that John dells have the proposed Arterial
project on First Street completed by the next meeting.
John McDougall stated that he has made application for several new
street lights.
Mayor Lannoye appointed Lowell Sperline as Town Attorney for East
Wenatchee. Si Neher made a motion that the Council approve this
appointment; motion seconded by John lticDougall and passed by a
unanimous vote.
Councilman Letts presented bids on the Town insurance policy. A
motion was made by John 'Jells to accept the proposal of the R.S.
Meenach Agency; motion seconded by Lawrence Letts and passed by
a unanimous vote.
Mr. Bellmore appeared before the Council and inquired as to the
possibility of a variance in the building code, on an addition
he is constructing to his residence. The Building inspector
had requested that work be stopped as the materials used did not
meet the fire codes. Building Inspector Clayton Jells explained
the situation, and stated that a variance could be granted. lifter
a general discussion, a motion was made by John1,-1cDougall that a
variance be granted to Mr. Bellmore for five years; motion seconded
by John Wells and passed by a unanimous vote.
Clayton Wells reported that the application of the Valley Sign Co.
to install the sign at the new Security Bank bldg. would be
within the Building codes, and he has instructed tha Sign Co. as
to the distance sign should be from the property line.
Art O'Neal made a motion that an emergency be declared to increase
the Park Budget by p1500.00. This motion was seconded b,,, Hohn
McDougall and passed by a unanimous vote.
John Viells made a motion to adjourn; seconded by John VicDouF;L.11
and passed by a unanimous vote.
