The regular ml:eting of the East 'denatchee Town Council was
called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were
Councilmen Art O'Neal, John McDougall and Si Neher; Police
Chief Joe Carl, Cle•k Dorotha McGee and Jim Lynch, representing
the City Attorney.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and stand approved
as read.
Art O?Keal reported that trees are being planted in the new
park and grass will be sown within the next day or so. He
expects work to be completed by the next meeting.
Si Neher stated that he will try to attend the meeting at the
State Highway Dept. on May 25th.
A request was made by residents of 47 So. I',ain Street to establish
a second hand business at that address. John McDougall made
a motion to deny this request, as this residence is not
considered suitable for this type of business. Motion was
seconded by Si Neher and passed by a unanimous vote.
Mayor Lannoye led a discussion on the proposed purchase of a
new radar unit for the Police car. John McDougall made a motion
to table this matter until next meeting or at such time as a
full council is present. I,"Iotion was seconded by Si Neher and
passed by a unanimous vote.
Jim Lynch reported for the City Attorney; He has recieved a
copy of the State Examiners report. He also stated that negoti-
ations are in progress with the Sewer District to trade
the Sewer service charges currently being billed to the To*vTn
for snow plowing for the Sewer District. A discussion was held
on the District Court Act and Mr. Lynch stated that the name
of Dave Ellis has been proposed for Judge for Dcuglas County.
As yet no definite action has been taken.
John I.IcDougall made a motion to adjourn; motion was seconded by
Art O'Neal and passed by a unanimous vote.
