The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was
called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present was Mayor
Lannoye; Councilmen John Vells, John McDougall and Art O'Neal,
Chief of Police Joe Carl, Deb. 'Marshall Bob Case, Clerk Dorotha
McGee, and representing the city Attorney was Attorney Jim
Lynch.
The minutes of the previous meeting was read and stand approved
as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as follows:

John I.Vells made a motion to pay the bills, with the exce tion
of the bill from Douglas County Road Dept. This will be held
for payment until the State Highway Dept. pays for the work on
the new park addition. Motion was seconded by John McDougall
and passed by a unanimous vote:
Art O'Neal reported the water lines are installed in the new
Park, and the park will probably be completed in 1�lay.
John McDougall reported that he had contacted Mr. Fleming
regarding the lights at the Grant Road & Main Street intersection.
Proper lights will be ordered and installed by the F.U.D.
A letter was received from T,Ir. Cliff Shiflett requesting an
additional street light in the vicinity of his home on Baker
Street.
Mayor Lannoye stated that the Fire siren has been moved from
the building used by the Eastmont J.C.'s and stored at the Baker
Flats Fire Station.
The resignation of Councilman Lloyd Keagle was read to the
Council. John McDougall made a motion to accept his resignation
with deep regret. Motion was seconded by John Wells and passed
by a unanimous vote. Mayor Lannoye requested that names be
submitted to the Council to 1-ill the Council vacancy.
John Wells stated that he will meetiwith Mr. Sandstrom next
week regarding street repair on North Ashland Street.
Tom Brooks, representing the Eastmont J.C's, requested permission
for the J.C.'s to sell Safe & Sane Fireworks for the fourth of
July. John ,'Tells made a motion to allow the J.C.'s to sell
Safe & Sane Fireworks during this time; motion was seconded by
John McDougall and passed by a majority vote. Motion was
opposed by Art O'Neal, Art O'Neal withdrew his opposing vote
and will vote in the affirmative.
Chief Joe Carl led a discussion on the proposed purchase of a
new radar unit for the Police Car. The radar unit was demonstrated
to Councilmen John Wells and John McDougall. Mayor Lannoye
requested this matter be tabled until the next meeting.

Jim Lynch reportedthat Mr. Ham�lton has additional correspondence
from the Book Publishing Co. e also stated that Mr. Hamilton
has been approached by Bob Hensel, Douglas County Pros. Attorney
as to the interest of East Wenatchee in the District Court Act.
The Council generally approved allowing Mr. Kruger to construct
a retaining wall between the Corral Drive-in and the Cut -Rate
Gas station.
John McDougall stated that he has a request for a possible
location for a washing machine repair business.
A motion to adjourn was made by John McDougall. Seconded by
Art 01Neal and passed by a unanimous vote.
