The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Harry
Patrick, Lawrence Letts, Arnold Stevens and Clerk Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and stand approved
as read.
The bills were presented tothe Council as follows:

Arnold Stevens made a motion to pay the bills; motion seconded by
Lawrence Letts and passed by a unanimous vote.
Lawrence Letts stated that the Planning Commission hoped to
present a Comprehensive Plan soon after the holidays. He suggested
a meeting with the Council members and Planning Commission
attending. After a general discussion, it was decided to have
the next regular meeting of the Town Council on January 8, 1968
at 8:00 p.m. The Planning Commission will be requested to meet
with the Council at 7:00 p.,. on January 8, 1968.
Lawrence Letts requested that "Caution" and Children at play"
signs be erected on First St. S.E. to help protect children
coasting on that street. He also requested that this street not
be sanded. He will remove and replace traffic cones used for
warnings on First street.
Lawrence Letts reported that Mrs. Frank Conway has donated a
flag to be installed in the Town Park. Mayor Lannoye stated that
he will get the pipt for the flag prole. Lawrence Letts made a
motion that the flag and pole be installed in the Town Park;
motion seconded by Arnold Stevens and passed by a unanimous vote.
Arnold Stevens reported that he has been unable to contact the
Director of the North Central Regional Library regarding the
possible library mail service to East Wenatchee residents.
Mayor Lannoye requested that a meeting be held in February with
Library personel.
Mayor Lannoye presented the 6 year Comprehensive Street Program
for a Public Hearing, Lawrence Letts spoke regarding the widening
of Grant Road and the possible drainage problem resulting in
flooding lower Grant Road and Rock Island Road during a heavy
run-off. He requested a letter be sent to the Douglas County
Commissioners inquiring as to their intent on preventing this
problem. Lawrence Letts made a motion to approve and adopt the
6 year Comprehensive Street Program as presented; motion was

seconded by Harry Patrick and passed by a unanimous vote.

Mayor Lannoye stated that the Town has received an assessment
from the Health Dept. for $432.00. Lawrence Letts stated that
Douglas County was to forward to the Health Dept. the difference
between t he assessment and the $193.00 as budgeted by t he Town.
Mayor Lannoye stated that if Douglas County does not forward
the money to the Health Dept., then East Wenatchee would have to
pay the assessed 0432.00.
Mayor Lannoye inquired as to the Council+s feelings on the
proposed Civic Center. lifter a discussion Council members stated
they do not have enough information at this time. Lawrence Letts
will attend the next meeting.
Lawrence Letts made a motion to adjourn; motion seconded by
Arnold Stevens and passed by a unanimous vote.
