The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Harry
Patrick, Lawrence Letts, Art O'Neal, gay Haase, Arnold Stevens
and Clerk Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and stand approved
as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as follows:

Ray Haase made a motion to pay the bills; motion seconded by
Lawrence Letts and passed by a unanimous vote.
Harry Patrick reported that work on the gutters on 9th street
has been completed.
Ray Haase reported that the lights on Grant Road and the Highway
will be installed as soon as the brackets are secured from the
Highway Department. He also stated that the light for the Park
has been ordered. A light is needed at the intersection of the
Thriftway Shopping Center and the Security Bank. He requested
that the Council members inspect the area after Council meeting.
Ray Haase also reported that Mr. Fleming from the Douglas County
P.U.D. stated that the tree limbs obscuring street lights will
be trimmed. Harry Patrick made a motion that a street light be
installed at above mentioned intersection; motion seconded by
Arnold Stevens and passed by a unanimous vote.
Arnold Stevens reported an improperly parked car at 13th and Baker
streets is impeding traffic. Mayor Lannoye will instruct Joe Carl
to check this situation.
Harry Patrick stated that the Street Dept. needs a Road grader
to aid in keeping street shoulders clean and in repair. Mayor
Lannoye instructed Mr. Patrick to look at equipment and report
at the next meeting.
Lawrence Letts reported that on November 7, 1967 at 7:30, a meeting
will be held at the Cascadian Hotel by the Joint Planning Council.
The purpose of this meeti ng is to show a film regarding the pop-
ulation growth in the Pacific north-west. He suggested attendance
by the City Officials.
Mayor Lannoye presented Ordinance no. 125, relating to the adoption
of the Uniform Building Code Standards and amending Ordinance no.
124, Section 1. Lawrence Letts made a motion to adopt Ordinance
No. 125; motion seconded by Arnold Stevens and passed by a unanimous
vote.
Mayor Lannoye read a letter from the City Attorney regarding the
establishment of a City Planning Commission for the purpose of
Comprehensive planning and Zoning. Mayor Lannoye recommended that
appointment of a Planning Commission be held in abeyance until
after the election.
