HomeMy WebLinkAbout6/19/1967 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesJune 19, 1967 The regular m--eting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called to order by Mayor Pro-tem Art O'Neal. Present were Councilmen Harry Patrick, Lawrence Letts, Ray Haase, Si Neher and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and stand approved as read. The bills were presented to the Council Current Expense Warrants nos. 2345 General Telephone Co. General Telephone Co. Mott W. Liek Street Warrant no. 679 Mott W. Liek as follows: 2347 33.25 13.50 208.25 Si Neher made a motion to pay the bills; Ray Haase and passed by a unanimous vote. 234.55 motion seconded by Harry Patrick reported that the new mowing machine was working today. Lawrence Letts reported that progress is being made in the plans for Beautification. Mayor Pro-tem Art O'Neal made an explanation on the Public Hearing on the request of R.R. Ellison to park a Trailer at 936 No. Main Street. Bob Derrv, ''ire Chief commented that the establishment of a trailer home in the proposed location did not meet the Fire protection requirements of the Town Building Codes. He stated that if the Town does not conform to the Codes, the fire insurance rating: may be effected. Philip Van Meter and Mr. Truitt objected to the issuance of said permit. After a general discussion, Lawrence Letts made a motion that permission be denied fe locate the trailer at the present location; m(,tion seconded by Si Neher and passed by a unanimous vote. Ruth Beaudry stated her intent to request permission to park a trailer home on her property at 4 French street. Art O'Neal explained the costs and Public Hearing required before such permit could be granted. Mayor Pro-tem Art O'Neal appointed Wm. M. Hamilton as Police Judge Pro-tem for the Month of July 1967, during the absence of Judge Lake. Si Neher made a motion that the next regular meeting be held Wednesday, July 5, 1967; motion seconded by Ray Haase and passed by a unanimous vote.
