HomeMy WebLinkAbout6/5/1967 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesJune 5, 1967 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannove. Present were Council- men Art O'Neal, Harry Patrick, Si Neher, Ray Haase and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Harry Patrick reported that�George Batterman has given permission for the street dept, to remove a water line on Baker Street. Mayor Lannoye stated that the new mower has not been satisfactory Sears has promised to send new equipment. Mayor Lannoye reported that Mr. &. Mrs. Gerald Ramaker have purchased a Town Hall sign for the new City Directory. The Clerk will send a letter of appreciation. June 5, 1967 contd. Mayor Lannoye presented an application from R. R. Ellison for permission to park a trailer at 936 No. Main. Mr. Van Meter, Iris Rose and the owners of Eastside Paint & Glass have objected to issuance of this permit. The Building Inspector has stated that a variance of 18 ft. is necessary if the permit is granted. Bob Derry, Fire Chief, stated that a trailer does not meet the Fire Codes. Dr. Loudon stated he feels that the Council should conform to the codes. Si Neher made a motion to defer action on this permit mntil the next regular meeting; motion seconded by Ray Haase and passed by a unanimous vote. Mr. Ellison stated that he has to move from his present address by June 8th. He says that he will have to partially occupy the trailer. Mayor Lannove reported that Mott Liek wants to sell a striping machine to the Town for $500.00. After a general discussion, Ray Haase made a motion that the town keep the striping machine it now owns and put it in working condition; if the opportunity arises, sell it and then purchase another machine. This motion was seconded by Si Neher and passed by a unanimous vote. Mavor Lannove stated that a price of 250 per copy will be charged the public for use of the copy machine. Council members may be charged cost. Machine to be operated only by the Clerk.
