The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Tom Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Harry
Patrick, Lawrence Letts, Arnold Stevens; East Wenatchee Police
Officers Joe Carl and Charles Walker and Clerk Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and stand approved
as read.
Harry Patrick reported that some crushed rock is needed for street
repairs.
Mayor Lannoye reported that the new sander has been received but
no ba ttery was received. He instructed the Clerk to send payment
for the sander with a letter informing Sahlberg Equip. Co, that the
battery had not arrived and requesting a purchase order for the Town
to purchase a battery locally.
Lawrence Letts reported that he has been trying to locate a safe
for the Town Hall. He stated that he has received several replies
in regards to the advertising in the Daily World. After a general
discussion Lawrence Letts made a motion to purchase the safe from
Craftsman, Inc. for $50.00; motion was seconded by Arnold Stevens
and passed by a unanimous vote.
' Arnold Stevens reported that a meeting will be held with Library
Officials on Parch 18, 196$:
Mayor Lannoye presented tax statements from Douglas County for
small portions of land now being used by the Town for street right-
of-way on Standerfer and French streets. Mayor Lannoye stated that
he had requested quit claim deeds approximately one year ago.
Mayor Lannoye reported that he has not received the resolution
needed for accepting the.annexation petitions.
After a discussion Lawrence Letts made a motion to send Charles
Walker to Law Enforcement School March 4, 1968; motion seconded by
Arnold Stevens and passed by a unanimous vote.
The bills were presented to t he Council as follows:
Current Expense Warrants nos. 2576 - 2578
Charles Walker (Salary) $300.30
Olympic College (School Ex.) 62.50
Charles Walker (School Ex.) 95.92
Arnold Stevens made a motion to pay the bills; motion seconded by
Harry Patrick and passed by a unanimous vote.
The Mayor and Town Council instructed the Clerk to count the
residences for census evaluation this year.
Lawrence Letts stated that the East Wenatchee Comprehensive Plan
is ready to be presented to the Council.
Lawrence Letts made a motion that a letter be sent to the local
School Directors recommending that the new Cascade School be named
