HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/21/1968 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesOctober 21, 1968 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Torn Council was called ' to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Harry Patrick, Art O'Neal, Arnold Stevens; Clerk Dorotha McGee and uhief of Police Joe Carl. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and apT,roved with the following correction; the price of the Chevrolet BelAir is $1,100.00. Mayor Lannoye stated that Town Officials will meet with the trustees of the Holmberg estate on Wednesday, October 23, 1968 at 3:00 p.m. in the Town Hall. He requested that the Councilmen be present. Mayor Lannoye asked if the Council was in favor of a Dog leash law. Arnold Stevens and Harry Patrick were in favor of such law; Art O'Neal stated that he would like to give this matter more thought. Mayor Lannoye will contact other council members regarding their opinions of this law. Chief Joe Carl introduced three exchange students from Japan. Joe Carl and other persons are receiving judo lessons from the students. Mayor Lannoye presented an American Flag to each visitor. Mayor Lannoye stated that the Clerk will continue to issue the building permits for the torn until the first of the year. Mayor Lannoye presented Resolution no. 1004 to the Council; Resolution no. 1004 is to increase the budget of the Police Dept. by $1,025.00 for 1968. Said increase is necessary to continue paving the salary of a full time police officer. Arnold Stevens made a motion to pass resolution no. 1004; motion seconded by Harry Patrick and passed by a unanimous vote. Mayor Lannoye appointed S.S. Mares, Police Judge pro-tem; salary of the Poli e Judge to be pro -rated for the month of October. Harry Patrick made a motion to adjourn; motion seconded by Art O'Neal and passed by a unanimous vote. Mayor G.T )u6, Clerk 1
