The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called
to order by Mayor orrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Harry
Patrick, Arnold Stevens, Art OtNeal, Lawrence Letts, Ray Haase;
Attorney John Carlson, Clerk Lorotha McGee and East Wenatchee '
Police Officers Joe Carl and Charles Walker.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and stand approved
as read.
The bills were presented to the Oouncil

Lawrence Letts made a motion to pay the bills; motion seconded by
Ray Haase and passed by a unanimous •:ote.
Mayor Lannoye presented the final budget for 1161 to the Council
for a public hearing. Lawrence Letts inquired as to the possibility
of the Water and Sewer Districts paying the portion of the Health
Listrict assessments relating to those districts. Mayor Lannoye
stated that he will consult with the districts regarding these
payments. A discussion was held regarding the police car to be
purchased. Mayor 'annoye stated that the Town can purchase a Chev.
BelAir for $1,000.00 or an Impala for $$1,150.00. Arnold Stevens
suggested the Town purchase the Chev. Impala. Arnold Stevens
requested a transfer of $150.00 from the Police Dept. Misc. fund
to the Capitol outlay fund; said transfer is needed to increase
the Police Dept. Capitol outlay fund to the amount necessary for
the purchase of the Impala. The Council agreed on this transfer.
Lawrence Letts made a motion to adopt the final budget as presented
with the transfer of funds in the t'olice Dept.; motion seconded by
Harry Patrick and passed by a unanimous vote.
The Council gave approval for the street dept. truck to be parked
in the library building.
Mott Liek stated that he had used a cylinder of oxygen gas belonging
to Mayor Lannoye. He requested permission to replace this gas.
Art O?Neal made a motion to approve this purchase; motion seconded
by Ray Haase and passed by a unanimous vote.
Mayor Lannoye stated that Herb Olive has requested a letter be sent
to the Douglas County Commissioners regarding payments to be made
after the first of the year to Herb Olive as the agent for the
East Wenatchee Planning Commission. John Carlson will send this
letter.
Mayor Lannoye reported that no funds were approved by the Urban
Arterial Board for the Plain Street project. The East Wenatchee
request will again be presented to the Board in January.
Mayor Lannoye reported an inquiry regarding a taxi cab franchise.
John Carlson presented Ordinance no. 131 to the Council. Ordinance
no. 131 establishes no parking zones on Main street. Lawrence Letts
made a motion to adopt Ordinance no. 131; motion seconded by Harry
Patrick and passed by a unanimous vote.
The Council requested that a letter be sent to the Health Dept.
requesting an itemized statement of all calls made within the town
be sent quarterly to the town.
