HomeMy WebLinkAbout12/15/1969 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesDecember 15, 1969 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Art I O'Neal, Douglas Hanna, Arnold Stevens, Attorney John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The bills were presented to the Council as follows; Current Expense Warrants nos. 3261 - 3271 Joe H. Carl $465.70 Charles Kay Walker 428.22 Dorotha McGee 123.60 Wenatchee Police Dept. 160.70 Douglas County Auditor 158.43 Don Whitaker 250.00 Herbert J. Olive 35.00 Wm. M. Hamilton 106.90 Dorotha McGee 126.70 John C. Carlson 190.40 Mott W. Liek 34.92 Street Warrant no. 895 Mott W. Liek 384.56 Arnold Stevens made a motion to pay the bills; motion seconded by Doug Hanna and passed unanimously. Mr. Neal Walters presented an application for a dance license I for the Wagon Wheel Restaurant. Arnold Stevens made a motion to approve said application; motion seconded by Doug Hanna and passed unanimously. Doug Hanna inquired about the possibility of the Douglas County Dog license law conflicting with the Town Ordinance. Mayor Lannoye explained the East Wenatchee Dog license law. He also stated that 1970 dog tags are now available at the Town Hall. Mayor Lannoye presented an agreement made by the City Attorney with the Eastmont Investors, Inc., regarding the use of the property recently acquired by the Town from Eastmont Investors. Doug Hanna made a motion that the Mayor and Clerk be instructed to sign the agreement for the town; motion seconded by Art OTNeal and passed unanimously. Mayor Lannoye requested that Mott Liek inquire fromthe Fire Dept. which of the buildings were to be burned in the area of the Main Street project. Mayor Lannoye requested John darlson continue with the vacation preceedings for_5th street. The Town is to retain 20 ft. right- of-way for the 1"lain Street project. 1 A discussion was held regarding pay increases for Town employees for 1970. Arnold Stevens made a motion to set the salaries as follows: Joe Carl $650.00 per month; Charles Walker, $625.00 per month; Mott Liek, 162$.00 per month; John Carlson, $250.00 per month; Wm. M, Hamilton, $150.00 per month; effective January 1, 1970. motion was seconded by Art O'Neal and passed unanimously. Joe Carl stated that he feels that any place of business given a Dance license should have adequate help to keep the peace. He requested a Town Ordinance requiring such help.
