HomeMy WebLinkAbout3/3/1969 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesMarch 3, 1969 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee Town Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Harry Patrick, Lawrence Letts, Ray Haase; Attorney John Carlson and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as re1d. The bills were presented to the Council as follows: Current Expense warrants nos. 2946 - 2970 Joe H. Spinner Co. 75.24 Don Hamilton 25.00 Security Bank of Washington 61.40 Wenatchee Farmers Exchange 27.34 Ray Haase made a motion to pay the bills; motion seconded by Harry Patrick and passed by a unanimous vote. Lawrence Letts reported the Douglas County Planning Commission has a resolution before the County Commissioners requesting adoption of the Uniform Building Code. Lawrence Letts suggested a meeting between the existing agencies and governmental bodies in the county and town government be held once each month or possibly every three months to discuss community and local problems. Ray Haase spoke in favor of such meetings . Lawrence Letts made a motion that letters be sent to said agencies to inquire as to their interest in such meetings,; motion seconded by Ray Haase and passed unanimously. Mayor Lannoye read Ordinance No. 136 to the Council; Ordinance No. 136 relates to the appealing of Ordinance no. 93. Said Ordinance no. 93 annexed the property of LeRoy Browning into the town limits. Lawrence.Letts made a motion to approve and pass Ordinance no. 136; motion seconded by nay Haase and passed unanimously. LeRoy Browning was present and had requested that his property be withdrawn from the town. Mike Lynch reported to the Council on the mail order library service now in pregress in East Wenatchee and Douglas County. The Mayor and Council discussed with Mr. Lynch the possibility of future library service to the town. LeRoy Browning congratulated Mr. Lynch, Mayor Lannoye and the Town Council on the.cordial relationship between the town and the library. Lawrence Letts made a motion to have the City Attorney write the annexation ordinance; subject to the review and recommendation of the Planning Commission and Comprehensive Plan; motion seconded by Harry Patrick and passed by a unanimous vote. John Carlson reported that the deed to Charles Meurer has been completed. Lawrence Letts made a motion that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to sign the deed; motion seconded by Ray Haase and passed unanimously. The Council requested that John Carlson make the agreement with wen=thhee for impounding dogs. Ray Haase made a motion to adjourn; motion seconded by Harry Patrick and passed unanimously. Mayor 1
