HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/19/1970 - City Council - City Council Meeting MinutesOctober 19, 1970 The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called to order by Mayor Forrest lannoye. Present were Councilmen Cliff Tvedten, Doug Hanna, Ed Rich, Arnold Stevens; Clerk Dorotha McGee and Joe Carl. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. The bills were presented to the Council as follows; U.A. B. Warrants nos. 70 - 71 Munson -Nash -Futrell & Associates $49 175.98 Helen Allen & Garfield Jeffers 1,800.00 Ed Rich made a motion to pay the bills; seconded by Doug Hanna and passed unanimously. Mayor Lannoye presented a letter from the East Wenatchee Water District requesting that payment in the amount of $672.18 be withheld from Moore Sanitary Const. Cots final payment on the U.A.B. project until settlement has been with the Water District. Mayor Lannoye stated that a ribbon cutting ceremony will be held on Saturday, October 24, 1970 at 2:00p.m., for completion of the Main Street project, followed by a Chamber of Commerce banquet at the East Wenatchee Grange at 700 P.M. Mayor Lannoye stated that the'PLanning':Commission.needs an.Ordihance requirizg-"atcat.bond -'i14 thgq'am4aufit .df $2,000.00 be posted before a building could be moved into the City limits. Bond would not be released until the building had been inspected by the Building Inspector and meets the required building codes. Arnold Stevens made a motion to have the City Attorney prepate said ordinance; seconded by Cliff Tvedten and passed unanimously. Mayor Lannoye appointed Cliff Tvedten to serve as City representative on the Douglas County Planning Commission. Joe Carl discussed with the Mayor and Council, the possibility of the City hiring an employee who would work for the Street and Police Department. He was instructed to obtain figures on costs for the employee, and report back to the Council. Doug Hanna made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Ed Rich and passed unanimously. d- 1
