The regular meeting of the East Wenatchee City Council was called
to order by Mayor Forrest Lannoye. Present were Councilmen Art I
O'Neal, Doug Hanna, Ed Rich, Cliff Tvedten; Attorney John Carlson
and Clerk Dorotha McGee.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.
The bills were presented to the Council as follows;
U.A.B. Warrants nos. 64 - 65
Munson -Nash -Futrell & Associates $5,130.69
Eastside Glass 420.00
Art O'Neal made a motion to pay the bills; seconded by Doug Hanna
and passed unanimously.
Art O'Neal stated that the sewer line installation in the park has
been completed.
Doug Hanna reported a count of 9 street lights on Main Street
from 9th street to Grant Road.
Ed Rich reported that the crushed rock for Main street is ready
for hauling to the Main street project. Morrill Asphalt paving Co.
is to prepare the street for ballast and haul same.
After a discussion, the Mayor and Council decided to obtain
liability insurance only on the front end loader. Clerk will '
contact the Insurance Agency,
Cliff Tvedten made a motion to purchase gas from Texaco, Inc.
at a price of 25.30 per ?allon for premium, and diesel fuel for
13.3 per gallon; seconded by Doug Hanna and passed unanimously.

After a discussion, the Council toTremain with the agreementTmade
with Grace Crawford for acquisition of a portion of her property
on Iain street. The city will not build a retaining wall on said
property as Miss Crawford has requested, but she may purchase fill
dirt, at her expense, from the contractor.
Mayor Lannoye reported that the Douglas County Road Dept. will seal
coat the parking for a cost of 25cents a sq. yard. Estimated area
950 sq. yards; estimated cost $237.50. Ed. Rich was authorized to
contact Glen Johnson regarding this project.
Mayor Lannoye inquired if any of the Councilmen had inspected the
lots offered for sale to the city. Doug Hanna stated he has checked
the lot across from the fire station. After a discussion, Council
members were not interested in either of the two lots offered by
Barnett Realtors. Mayor Lannoye reported that Mr. McDevitt asks
A15,000.00 for his lot, Mrs. Coe $6,500.00; Mr. palters, $5,000.00.
Payor Lannoye stated that the city could not purchase the land this
year, as a capitol outlay for land purchase had not been included
in the budget.
Mayor Lannoye stated that Mr. Fleming, Douglas County P.U.D., has
inquired about a street light agreement and franchise for the
lights on the Main Street project. The City Council will discuss
this matter with the P.U.D.
The Mayor and Council members expressed their thanks to Harold's
Body Shop for painting the street loader.
Doug Hamna Made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Cliff Tvedten and
passed unanimously.
