Present were Councilmen Cliff Tvedten, Art O'Neal, Ed Rich, Doug Hanna and Clerk Dorotha McGee. The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read. Mayor Lannoye expressed thanks, on behalf of himself and the Council, to Doug Hanna for the coat racks he donated to the City Hall. The Mayor informed the Council that Errol Downs, Merchant Policeman, wishes to attend Basic Law Enforcement School March 1, 1971. A letter to the Mayor, from Ron Weaver, stated that he would be unable to pay the school expenses for Errol Downs, and suggested that this be paid by the city. After a discussion, Council members were not in favor of said expenses being paid by the city, and also not in favor of the East Wenatchee Police Ufficers performing the duties of Merchant Policemen during the absence of Patrolman Downs. After a discussion, the Council members approved unanimously, the taking of a door to door census on April 1, 1971. Art O'Neal made a motion to adjourn; seconded by Doug Hanna and passed unanimously.
